car back from garage and a couple of questions

Featured Replies

Just had a garage do some work on my Octavia after failing its MOT, works done everything works, Monday will see if it passes.....

Questions, the brake pedal seems to be biting lower, is this normal? they had to change a cylinder on the rear drum brake.

I have an intermitent rattle from the front of the car, drivers side somewhere towards the front, any ideas what it might be?

and finally, took the car out this evening and the battery light started to flash, constant flash, i guessed, as the car hasn't been used for a decent run for a month or two, that the battery might be a little flat? took it out for an hour and the light has gone out. Would it be a low charge, or should i be more concerned?

Brakes, do you mean the pedal moves further beofre anything happens? If so, they haven't bled the system properly, and have got air in it somewhere.

As for the rattle, try stuffing a bit of foam or a sponge round the radiator. The rubber mounts wear out and the rad starts to rattle.

Yes, it moves further, not at all spongy just the point at which the brakes bite and start to work is further into the pedal stroke.
