Brake Pad Wear Indicator Wire

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My car has just been serviced and turbo replaced, the garage mentioned that the brake pad indicator wire is damaged so will need looked at sometime and a repair kit is available. They said it's not at the caliper end but the other end.

Can anyone describe where the wire goes to on a Oct Elegance 2.0 TDI? The weather is horrible so not had a chance to try and follow the wire yet.

Thanks,

Dougall

Any ideas? Read a few previous threads so I know the sensor wire goes to the front near-side caliper

The wire for the brake pad warning runs from the n/s brake caliper into the n/s inner wing and goes under the battery tray, you can get a repair loom which you join under the battery tray, dead easy repair the repair loom has the same colour wires so just match them up and just make sure you use good quality water proof joining connectors.

Thanks for that........at least I know where to start.

The garage said the wire was damaged at the chassis end no the caliper end...........do you think they have visually seen something while doing the service or has the diagnostics machine picked up something?
