Replacing Gear Knob

Featured Replies

Just bought dad a replacement gear knob for his Octavia as the current one is tatty. Its not a simple un-screw type that I have replaced in the past - its held on by a clip instead. Has anyone any tips for replacing? I don't want to stuff it up as its not my car!

On my Fabia, it was a case of cutting the old clip, and crimping the new one on with pliers.

As in prevoius reply cut the old clip with a plier but if you don't have a tool to secure the new clip back fit a jubilee clip instead. That clips is just to secure the gear knob from coming off the lever.Literally a minute job to replace ..

what size jubilee clip do you recommend? and what is the 'tool to secure the new clip back'?
