Alpine HU's and std CD Changer?

Featured Replies

Hi.

Is there an Alpine HU that will work the cd changer in a 51 plate Octy vRS? Idealy a single slot CD player one or MP3 unit?

cheers

shrops 'search is for losers' Paul ;)

Pretty sure the only thing they do allows an Alpine changer to be connected to an OEM headunit...

so if i change my HY from the std one then the std changer will be useless too?

Afraid so... :(

...to expand upon what Rev said.....you can get most manufactuers will have an autochanger to fit the standard HU not the other way round.

If you're going to change the HU you'll have change the autochanger as well...if you want an autochanger that is.

oh well. Lookslike i'm stick with it then. Maytry and get a a symphony cd player rather than th ecassette one i have no tho. I asume thats a straight swap with no probs?

Should be a straight swap, yes. There is also the possibility of running amps off the back of the HU to get a better sound, but I had limited success when I tried it (ie. it didn't work properly)...
