Octavia passenger door electrics.

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Just bought my first Octavia , a French registered 1.6 Glxi as a general runabout as the reviews were favourable.

Everything was good until I returned from a weekend away to find the battery totally flat.

After recharging and taking her for a drive all seemed okay.

BUT, the passenger door window, mirror and locking does not operate.

I read the forums and have checked the wiring loom and connectors to both door cards and they are all in pristine condition.

Anyone have an idea what the problem may be?

Any info. greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Paul.

hi Paul similar prob with mine and a friends, even though the connectors may look mint separate them and have a squirt round with some wd40 the tops of the doors let in rain and the connector blocks wick up the water. while your inside the door clean the drain holes:-)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the info.

I have checked the 12 volt and earth connections which are good.

Today I went to start her up and the (new) battery was totally drained.

I suspect that the door control card is the cause so have disconnected at the passenger footwell connector.

Hopefully this will stop the battery from draining again.

I need to disconnect the window winder motor so I can manually raise the glass as it is open about an inch.

Then I'll refit the motor and look out for a decent used door control card.

Cheers,

Paul
