i just got asked how the octy vrs aerial comes off ??? I assumed it just unscrewed ???

They can be quite stiff to pull off as have a kind of security lug on them.

I did that and it split the base in two pieces.

Do you mean removing just the mast, or the whole base and everything?

Hold the base with one hand, tug the aerial hard with the other. I used pliers to grip it.

Same method as mentioned, you unscrew, fold down and tug hard.

I ended up replacing the base on mine as it was already split(rear headling down and undo nut holding base to roof) and just fitted a VW Passat one as they look the same but have no fold down/security lug.
