Where to mount amp?

Featured Replies

Considering changing the standard speakers in all 4 doors for Hertz replacements, but want to keep the standard head unit.

Installer at my local ICE shop has suggested amplifying the signal from the head unit, but I don't want the amplifier screwed onto the rear of the back seats.

Is there a better place to put the amplifier so that it is 'invisible' - i.e. not in the way etc. I am not getting a sub woofer for the boot.

Cheers!

Depends how big the amp is. I have a hertz he4 and that's quite sizeable. If it's a smaller amp then under the front seat in the storage boxes might work.

Cheers.

I am looking at mounting my 4 channel Vibe to the back of the rear seats (single seat). Drill through metal with drill bit 1 size smaller, then screw through?

If you cut a small slit int he carpet you can minimize the damage to it as well.

yeah, thats one option. If your lucky enough to have a false boot floor thats even better. What about the rear storage compartmens on the left and right of the car? (where the cd changer would go).
