New to Skoda - Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Having been a VW enthusiast for a long time, infact I am the proud owner of a Corrado VR6, MK2 Golf GTI and a Polo GTI. I felt the need to go for a diesel to help reduce my fuel costs. As a result I purchased a 2003 Fabia vRS which was advertised on here a couple of months ago. I managed to negotiate a very reasonable price as there were a few faults which needed sorting. So far to date I have completed the following:

Replaced the console bushes with Cupra ones, again purchased from a fellow forum member;

Replaced the rear shocks and top mounts;

Replaced the ARB bushes. No knocking or creaking anymore!

Replaced the rear brake pads. The ones fitted were down to the metal!

Full interior valet, look like new now;

Replaced both rear door cards as they had been attacked by a dog;

Paint correction is underway. A trip to the body shop is booked to sort out some stone chips on the bonnet;

Fixed the rear wash. The pipe in the engine bay had come adrift;

The wheels are in for a refurb and the car is currently running with Octavia vRS 16" wheels with balloon profile tyres :)

Once this is all done a remap is next on the cards.

I've just found out that the air con compressor is shot :(
