New 1.4TSI Service Plan - Intervals

Featured Replies

I am looking at buying a new 1.4 TSI,

I have been told different things by two different dealers.

I would like to know the service Intervals for the different service.

Some say 12 Month or it variable/long life service?

Is there a online manual of the owner manual

I would expect that the servicing can be set to either fixed (Fixed mileage) or variable (mileage dependant on how it has been driven).

However you have the servicng set, manufacturer will nearly always recommend that the vehicle is serviced at least once every 12 months.

As Stoofa says there is a choice of fixed or variable servicing. I believe the costs are higher for the variable servicing as longer life oil is used, but this is then offset by the less frequent services.

Our 1.4TSI was supplied set to variable (I believe that this is standard), and since the our annual mileage is low in theory it won't need a service for ~2 years from new. I am contemplating what to do at present as I don't really like the idea of a new car not having any form of serice for two years.

There is a pinned post with links to owners manuals

The fixed servicing is every 15K KM or 9320 miles which will mean servicing more than once a year if you're doing a higher annual mileage.

My VRS is set to variable but I expect (from the in car Maxidot display) to be having it serviced at about 14K miles which will roughly be a year for me.

I'd be having my car serviced every 8 months on fixed which is more visits to the garage than I want to make.

Just to clarify the costs for (say) the 1st variable service may be higher than for the 1st fixed service due to more expensive oil, the overall costs of variable servicing over a few years are probably lower if you are doing above average mileage.
