Track days.. and being banned

Featured Replies

Fancy doing some 1/4 mile days and track days... only issue is i have a year driving ban...

i can drive no problem and as a track day isn't on the road is a UK license necessary?

i have a photocopy of my license?

Wouldn't hurt to phone the company who run the track day and see what they say,

yeah suppose

ill give croft / oulton / knockhill a phone

I think most places require a full valid licence, slightly unrelated note i remember reading that the FIA were gonna get all national motorsport bodies including the RAC MSA to bring in rules that if a driver lost his road licence he would automaticly loose his competition one too, but i may be wrong...

Worst case there always go-karts :D

If you were to still have a copy of your license then you`d have no problems. (dont mean that like as in not got banned, but as in just maybe "found" a old lost one  )

I'm with Kerr

I think they need a valid license, although you may be able to get round it with a copy of it from when it was valid

I've been up to 1/4 mile days up at Crail and have never once been asked to produce my licence pay your dosh and sign a disclaimer and thats you, sure you can actually Pay the owner to store your car and drive down the strip when you want as well.

Crail never ask you for it.

Knockhill you need a full UK drivers license iirc

Knockhill say you do, but when I went for my driving experience when I was 18, they never checked me. Probably not worth the risk, as IMO they'd be stricter at track days.
