Fabia Mk1 Radio - swapping 402 for 411

Featured Replies

Hi. I've just swapped my 2002 Fabia's standard "402" r/cassette for a "411" CD unit from a Mk1 Octavia.

Apart from the small panel gap over the unit caused by the smaller fascia of the 411 (is this unit a standard single-DIN size ?) which I believe is easily cured with a Connects2 blanking plate, I've lost 90% of my (previously perfect) radio reception ??

I've seen adverts for ISO-DIN aerial adaptors, does this mean the Octavia CD player is not compatible as standard with the Fabia's aerial? Seems a bit strange and the connectors fit fine...

Has anyone done this swap and can advise please ?

Thanks

Thanks. Before I read your post Id decided to get a unit that fitted properly so now have an OE Symphony unit, fits perfectly of course as was factory option at the time, but amazed that still no radio reception !

Don't know the answer to that one!!?? unless something wrong with unit or aerial connector on back of unit......or might need a booster for the signal :(
