Any way of testing light washers?

Featured Replies

I've had the new car for nearly a month now.

After I got it I think I tested just about everything - make sure it was all working.

Suddenly thought - I haven't actually checked the light washers to make sure they are working.

How do I go about testing these?

Is it that they are supposed to wash the lights every third time they are switched on?

So in theory switching lights on - off - on - etc will result in the washers activating?

Just probably the last thing I want to confirm as working :)

The headlights MUST be ON

They will spray when you operate the windscreen washer

Every 3 cycles from then on..not really noticed.

TBH..I find them really annoying and pointless but they are needed for UE regs!!

At night..I stop, turn off the lights, wash the windows, then turn the lights on again and drive off

If yours dont work, I wouldnt bother getting them fixed :wonder:

1. Switch on lights, operate windscreen washers, windsreen and light washers will operate. Washer fluid normally hits lights and sprays over front and bonnett, should be no mistake if they are working. 2. In the dark you will not miss if they work as it looks like you have turned your lights off for a split second.

3. Get wife to stand in front of car about a foot in front of a headlight, switch on lights then operate washers, if they work you will be informed.emoticon-0183-swear.gif
