Oil

Featured Replies

Good morning everyone,

I seem to have misplaced my owners manual, so wondering if one of you good people will give me an answer to my question.

What oil do I need for my 2007 CR170 TDi?

Regards

Chris

A CR on 2007?

Either way it will be 507.00 oil.

Cheers both.

Yeah I'm sure it's a CR. The registration date is 02.07.2007. How can I find out to be sure if it's CR or PD?

If it is a CR it will sound like a petrol and red line at 5k instead of 4.5k

A diesel that sounds like a petrol?

Mine sounds like a diesel but in fairness my last petrol car was a 285bhp Focus ST so I'm not sure if im confusing what a petrol sounds like to a diesel that sounds like a petrol.

I'm guessing then mine is a PD, although from the information on vRSworld.co.uk the CR engine is 05 onwards?

Have a look at the engine code, either on the registration doc or on the build sticker in the boot. If it shows BMN or BMR then you have a PD engined car. If it shows CEGA or CBBB I believe, then you have a CR engined car.

Just had a look at vrs world and it shows the CR and PD as available from 05 on!! :dull:

CR came in around 58 reg time.

What did your focus st have done to it to put out 285?

Hi Jonno,

Had stage 2 remap (Bluefin), dreamscience induction kit and Airetec Gen3 Intercooler. Never put it on a RR but based on comparisons with others who had same mods, 285 was about probable.

Was gonna get uprated downpipe and/or sports cat before deciding to get something different. Went for a vRS after being quite suprised with how quick they shifted after one chased me up a slip road.

Would of thought you needed the down pipe for the stage 2 but obviously not? So why did you go diesel vRS and not petrol? My remapped cr couldn't keep pace with a standard st. I thought performance was too lacking on the diesel hence back to the petrol.

Uprated DP is ideal for stage 2 but not essential.

Don't get me wrong, the vRS I mention didn't stand much chance but I was genuinely suprised by the pull it had from about 30mph up the slip road - not sure if it was a petrol or diesel though.

Chose the diesel purely because I had recently changed jobs which meant more miles commuting, at 30mpg at best I chose mpg over bhp but with a decent compromise on looks, affordability and reliability. Originally had looked at a 320d but was boring, then looked at a Saab 93 but was unimpressed. The skoda was the best choice at the time and I don't regret it one bit.

P.s - here are some pics of my old ST if you're at all interested.

Cheers for this, only seen your post this morning. I've checked the sticker in the boot and it says BMN, so that's that one sorted!!! It's a PD not a CR as I had thought.

ASBO orange :D

I've always quite liked the Focus ST but if I wanted something that size it would have to be a Golf GTI

Did it have a blue light on the roof?:giggle:
