Midlands Exhaust

Featured Replies

Just gotten a quote from Midlands Exhaust based in birmingham... now i dont live in birmingham but im willing to travel that far to get one made.

Basically Stainless steel, lifetime guarantee,

Quoted on my Mk1 03 Octy VRS £290 for Cat back, and then £40 for a De-Cat pipe

Opinions on price? and has anybody used these people before?

If your Nottingham side I'd recommend big city tyres. Done a exhaust on every car I've owned.

Mate of mine took his octavia vRS there, i assume your talking about MIJ performance in walsall? He did nothing but rave about the quality and customer service.

Ok well ive booked it in at Midlands exhaust.

The MIJ in Walsall quoted me £360+ just for the cat back, so £290 for a stainless steel lifetime guarantee exhaust to me dont sound too shabby.

Its fully customisable.

So the question is, how do i have it done? i dont want to hold myself back in the future should i go crazy on the power/mapping side.

Already decided to have a De-cat... What about the mid pipe silencer? im tempted to go straight through

I have a resonated de-cat and a resonated middle section and regret it slightly. It doesn't sound much difference than the stock exhaust unless your around 5-7k rpm. Personally i'd stick with the de-cat, through to a back box.

For optimum gains in the future I'd get them to do it at least 2.75-3" from de cat to back box (no boxes inbetween).

Also you may find you get an emmisons light on the dash, especially if they dont put the lambda sensors back in, but also because the rear one may pick up that the cat isn't there.

Make sure the boxes don't narrow in internal pipe diameter otherwise it will still be restricted

Ill tell them to put the lambda sensors back in or they can jolly well sod off... im asking for an exhaust not another light for my dashboard lol :p

Isnt there a way to turn the rear one off?

Yeah there is, in the map

John Ashley exhausts in walsall did mine and his workmanship is second to none and he will beat both listed above the second lambda sensor wont be a problem with the management light as he spaces the sensor out a bit so it only gets a lighter reading of the emissions his father has the factory Ashley exhausts who custom make competition exhausts too his work and prices are amazing

01922615671 ask for John and tell him Mark with the yellow Octavia recommended him you wont be disappointed
