Used clutch plate wanted!

Featured Replies

Hi All,

As some of you might have noticed on the project journel thread, I'm converting a Favorit to electric drive. As a result of this I need an old clutch plate/friction disc for prototyping reasons, doesn't matter how worn out and knackered the disc is, as I only need to strip the splined centre from it :giggle:

So if anyone has one from a recent clutch change, either Favorit or earlier felicia will do, I'll happily pay you postage and something for your trouble for it, please let me know.

Best regards,

Paul

i guess if you only need the centre spline it doesn't matter if it's from a 1.3 or 1.6 model right?

Not in the slightest, assuming they use the same spline :)

I have one here...

I'll be interested to see some photos of the end result.

I used to work for a company in Chester called 'Radio Contact' The boss there was an electronics wizard, and owned the only Dihatsu 'sooty van' with anelectric motor fitted instead of the normal 3 cylinder petrol engine.

It ran through a standard 5 speed gearbox, and the petrol tank housed the ballest resistors.

It would do approx 50 miles at normal speeds, the charger was a hugh box with a very heavy transformer in it. for long journeys around North Wales, Wirral or Cheshire, he would load the charger in the back, along with his little honda generator... (first hy-brid?)

I even have the joyful claim to fame of the only person to ever crash one...(at about 3mph into a steel post outside the industrial unit i worked from...LOL)

djaychela,

I've sent you a PM

wayne247,

If you'd like to see pictures of the build as it progresses, I have a thread in the Project Journal section of the site, although we are a little of completion at present!

Best regards

Paul
