Hello all,

Currently purchasing a very well spec'd 2006 Octavia 2 VRS 170 PD. It comes with the MFD2 Sat Nav but I was thinking of replacing it with one of these:

Alpine

Pioneer

I see the Pioneer is can bus compatible and will display the climate control on the screen and the parking sensors. Does anyone know if either unit will display the sat nav directions on the maxi-dot display?

When you remove the MFD2 are you planning on selling and if so how much?

When I was looking round for nav units a year or so ago it seemed that there were very few that would display nav info in the Maxidot display - one of the few that did was the Zenec NC2010.

I can't say for definite if the two you mention here do or don't, but I would have thought if it doesn't specifically say anything about it in the documentation then I'd think they probably don't. But I'd be tempted to contact either the manufacturers or a reputable dealer to find out for sure.

Thanks. Not sure if I'll be selling it yet as I might eventually take the new sat nav to the next car so would want to re-install the MFD2 when I sell the car.

I have the Zenec unit in a Mk V Golf. Works very well and is fully integrated with the Canbus and Maxidot display.
