R32/TT/S3 cast wishbones

Featured Replies

Next on my list of suspension mods are some cast wishbones but what sort of price should I expect to pay for secondhand ones?

anything between 80ish to £300 a pair depending on how lucky you are

I got a set off ebay for 35 each plus delivery a side,

Guess i got lucky then, oh and i paid 25 quid for a spare subframe off ebay

Still not got round to fitting them yet though

Found some for that price too.

From what I can tell on a 4x4 I'd only need to change the wishbones (already have lower 4Motion springs and shocks) , no need for different hubs, ball joints or washers? Also, I guess it would need a custom tracking job doing afterwards?

f you go for the Cast wishbones youll need new ball joints and use a washer on them as far as I know.

you were def lucky...its just i know someone on here paid about 300 a pair!

did the subframe have the uprated bushes though? as those subframes are rare!

Yes you need new tt balljoints and a washer to use with your existing 4x4 hubs. The standard balljoint in your current wishbone is deffierent to the ones that go in the tt wishbone, which are slotted and allow for some adjustment.

Balljoint Yes, Washer Not required on 4x4

You will need a 4wd geometry alignment done

What settings for the alignment should be used?

if you run full tt setup then as a tt, or a custom setup would work too, depends what you want, best to go to a custom specialist who can give you options.

It was a standard subframe off a golf, got it to clean up, tread, and paint, then am going to fit new bushs into arms and subframe, then am going swop all lot over
