leon cupra front spliter

Featured Replies

I am planning to fit a leon cupra r spliter to the front of my vrs.

How easy are they to fit? Does it involve drilling holes or anything to the bottom of the bumper?

Cheers

Not sure on an Octy but I just drilled the holes in the splitter then just screwed it straight into the bumper using self tappers. Piece of cake

as above

Probably a dumb as question from a newbie but do you need to remove the bumper to install the splitter?

Yes really it makes it easier.

Bumper is easy to remove.

i did it on the car, just jacked up

I drilled the splitter and self tapped the 1st time but it didn't last long!

The 2nd time round I've got some nuts & bolts holding it on and so far so good

just get a stubby screw driver and get down on ya back, it really is that simple.

Does anyone know the spliters off ebay come with bolts or screws etc?

Is it just the spliter i have to drill holes or does the bumper require holes drilled aswell?

cheaper from seat firstly...and you have to get your own screws and do you own drilling (presumably your talking of the front one)

I got mine of ebay about 30 quid, then just get some self tappers from b and q

I thought that they were only about £22 from the SEAT stealers?

Or have they also gone up like the PD160 intakes?

Yep £37 these days

Thanks for that. Also, anyone ever instaled the rear bumper spoiler?

I ordered that exact one on wednesday. Just waiting for it to arrive. Can't decide if I like it or not.

£24 summat pence when I got mine from TPS. F*** paying £30+ for one!

I bought mine for £8 from my mate ;)

Took about 10mins to fit.

Word of warning, You will scrap every where you wouldn't think, that would make you scrape, if that makes sense.

Do a search on here there is a really good guide to fitting one

What have you guys done with the two centre lugs? Did you not drill out a square section for them to lock onto?

If not, surely the centre section will just be flapping around unsupported?

Steve

Just cut the tops off and screw them up. Might have to grind the heads down though so they fit up inside the lug
