She' has passed :)

Featured Replies

Well, for the first time in donkeys years, a car I've owned has cruised through the annual MOT test, only needing an inner cv boot securing. Didn't need the tyres doing on the front, but they had just over 2mm on, so was worth changing, and the back box was FUBAR.

All in all, with the tyres, exhaust and MOT, it came to £160, so I am not arguing at that price really. She has one or 2 advisories, but these are neither here, nor there jobs. A minor leak on the centre box, indicators at the front discolouring, the 2 minor chips in the screen, and a tiny bit of play in the rear wheel bearings.

She now happily has 12 months ticket on :)

She is going to get treated to a wash and valet this evening when it cools down.

Makes a change for the bill to be well under £300!

Congrats mate

does ur car have a more socially acceptable name than 'the old beast'????:rofl:

my indicators are completely discoloured but my garage didn't give an advisory on it!!!

She just gets called the Felly :) The Clio she replaced would have had a fail list about 30 miles long! I would say the MOT on that was benter than a £6 note. The previous car before the Clio was a Fiesta and it was chase the weld on that. I think they were running out of places to weld to.

When the bloke said, it's passed, I thought eh? Yerwot? Never! Means the bank balance can breathe a sigh of relief. It's also swung SWMBO even further towards liking Skodas, as it is the first time a large amount of cash hasn't had to be spent on repairs, just wear & tear bits for once, 2 of which we could have kept, but were just erring on the side of caution.

Might even go and buy some polish and treat her to a wax yet :)
