Hi there can anyone tell me if you can use locks from other vw Aud Cars and if yes which ones?

Mark 4 Golf, I think are the same. If your locks are the type that can be disassembled, there are repair kits available, 1U0898001 and 1U0898002, which are cheap from the dealers.

Thanks for the reply fordfan i have now got a used door lock and it fits only diffrence was the colour of the shell on one side the original was all balck, and the new one has green on one side. it`s working fine solved the problem i had of the lights not coming on when door is opened.
