HELP : cruise instal not responding

Featured Replies

iv installed cruise into my 1.9 diesel octavia 03 reg...

all wiring in and did the following on VAG-com ...

Enable the ECU for Cruise Control using VAG-COM or similar. Note that this procedure does not require the registered version of VAG-COM :

[select]

[01 - Engine]

[Login - 11]

Enter 11463 to activate cruise control

[Do It!]

And im getting nothing. Iv checked and i have 13V power going to the stalk

is thier another fuse somewhere that i should check ? fuse 5 that i tapped into is fine

They go from the relay/fuse box under wiring asm to the ECU.

follow the pdf install guide on here if it helps

When you cheched VAGCOM did you get the "G" in the main component field that indicates cruise has been activated succesfully?

I took some pics when i installed cruise control and of under the wiper asm, removing that lot is a pain.

hope this helps

Yes.. the G is now within the text of the car details so im hoping thats that done

im just so confused now as to why its still not working

want to check wiring continuity... iv got a live feed ( confirmed ) and the switch is giving a switched + towards the loom

just want to check the furthest point of the loom now to see if the signal + is getting through

Yes, VAG "asked" RossTech not to use VAGCom as a name, so it's called VCDS now instead. It's the same thing.

GOTCHA... ill try that then

i did plug the laptop up to the car today but VCDS kept crashing... although it worked for 5 mins the other day to enable the cruise in the ECU

thanks for your help

I am sure you need to also change the coding in 46 central convenience, or 17 instruments. Not too sure where, but I activated cruise for someone earlier in the week (newish Audi A4) and it needed the 11463 thing doing along with changing a 2 to a 4 in the coding of the instruments (or similar - I don't recall exactly)

You can check the cruise, brake and clutch switches at MB 66.2 and 66.4

Under normal circumstances, the 11463 login should be all you need for this TDi.

Edited out Chassis number etc

Brake and clutch switches are working.

Take a look at MB66.4 (Engine->Measuring block 66 field 4) for the cruise switches

Press the Up, Down and move the slide switch to all positions.

You can find more info at http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/m_blocks/060-069.html

Any fault codes?

If something isnt wired right it should be logging an implausible signal.

Usually after fitting, coding and an ignition cycle it should start working.

Have you wired the four pins into the block under the wiper linkage correctly?

No fault codes.

iv wired up correctly.. confused.com . i checked the main red + wire ( main operating button on end of stalk ) and its got continuity through to the ECU. do you think if either of the others are not connected fully it might stop the whole thing working ????

iv done the check now and looks like a poor connection for the 'set/tip down' button on the cruise as im gettin no feedback from it

du think this single fault would cause the whole lot not to work ??

goin to check the wiring thursday when iv got time
