1.8t

Featured Replies

Hi all can you tell me what the 1.8t elegance is like.I had a mk 1 vrs at 180bhp but the elegance is 150bhp i think. As am thinking of selling my mk2 for the 1.8t elegance what toys would it have and what could i do to it to make it go like a mk1 vrs

All i know is when you remap it they are grate :-)

I did some investigating when i got my one for an auction house, and found an old for sale add for it :-)

Call the guy and he kindly sead what had been done and so on and then sead he part x it for a VRS and has wished he had not.

For me the best bit is when you get snow and can still drive it :-)

I own 1.8T elegance, but I never drove an RS to tell you the diffs

As far as handling goes, the suspension is lower and a bit stiffer, and the brakes are better. Apart from that, they're very much the same, apart from the bodywork.

Depending on which turbo you have, you can get a remap to either 185 ish BHP (K03 turbo), or 215 ish BHP (K03S turbo).

are all of them 4x4 or same 2wd

No. There were 2wd and 4wd with 150bhp as standard. Visually, standard 4x4 will sit higher and should have a 4x4 gearknob (and shorter gearing). Standard of trim not as good as Mk2 IMO and smaller although it will have electric roof and windows, climate, possibly cruise and so on. Elegance was second only to L@K in spec. You can remap it to the same power as a mk1 vrs but you'll need to do quite a lot of work to bring handling and braking upto VRS spec.

Then remove the boot badges and you'll have a very nice Q car which surprises many ... :giggle:
