No luck with iphone to stereo connection

Featured Replies

Have recently taken on a new octavia estate elegance. Thought it would be easy connecting my iphone4 to the stereo, but oh no!

Ive bought a 3.5mm lead, connected it from the aux hole under the arm rest to my iphone, and thought that you then just press media on the stereo unit and press aux. But when i click on media, the only option that is possible to press on is CD, SD and Aux are not possible to press.

Could anyone help a frustrated octavia owner???

Many thanks

There's an option in Setup -> Media (or something like that - can't quite remember off the top of my head! :D) that's something like "Activate AUX input". Tick this and you should find the AUX option magically appears

EDIT: I should mention that the above is for a Columbus - is this what you have?

Should be the same for the Bolero, I had the VW equiv radio in my old car (RCD510) and you have to go into the settings to turn the AUX socket on, not sure why this isnt set from factory but thats what you do, but make sure you have a good quality lead otherwise it will pick up all interference etc and it will just end up sounding rubbish, personally I dont think its much cop, its just a cheap compromise from VW/Skoda etc really, and an excuse to talking people into the MDI which is excellent I have found in other cars.
