New clutch problems

Featured Replies

Hya everyone,

Got a question about new clutches in general; it is normal for a new fitted clutch kit complete with a flywheel and a reconditioned gearbox to emit a hissing noise while engaged in the 1st gear? It feels as if the clutch doesn't engage perfectly ? My mechanic told me that this is normal due to the fact that all parts are new,but I am not convinced and therefore I would very much appreciate your help in this matter.

im sure the more qualified people will be along shortly to fire out the actual answer but when I collected my skoda brand new from dealers the parts were all new and it didn't make any noises....... that's what id prob ask the guy if he said that to me where the logic in my brain points

Yeah, you right! Could it be possible that due to an either wrong part or wrongly fitted clutch, you will get Vibrations coming of the front of your car,not specifically from your steering wheel but you can feel it there too,and it also feels at its peak while engaged in a high gear low revs while going on a straight line and accelerating . As an example,35mph in 5th gear and accelerating.
