How to change a rear bump stop on Fabia VRS?

Featured Replies

My near side rear bump stop fell apart a while ago, but now the piece of rubber which came off underneath the plastic shield has worn away and it makes knocking noises whilst driving.

I have ordered a new bump stop from the main dealers and am willing to fit it myself as I have a reasonable knowledge of cars. Could anybody help me out with the process I need to go through to change it?

I believe first I need to remove the wheel arch liner and then undo some bolts (not sure which) after this I am a little unsure of what I need to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

how easyly did the top mount come off the shock?

I had a failed shock and tried to swap myself but my mate had to use his press to remove it :giggle: 2tonne i think it needed

A bit of a pain, as I didn't have a ring spanner. Through help from my dad, incorrect spanner and a pair of mole grips it came off with a good bit of determination :p
