Hiya. Got my 08 Octavia VRS last October but never got round to joining this forum. Last car was a Mazda RX8 192 and whilst that it handled very well and was mostly reliable, it was quite impractical, had absolutely no torque and was far too thirsty for sub-200 bhp. Love the VRS far more: feels a bit quicker (may be due to turbo boost), is far more practical and handles almost as well. And unlike the Mazda which was on its third clutch at 25,000 miles (Don’t! I bought it at 20,000) and with the rotting alloys, I’ve had no problems with the Octavia. Except an hour after I bought it when some doofus rear-ended me whilst I was stationary before turning right!

Hello and welcome! Rear-ended by an idiot 1 hour into ownership ... ouch! :'(

Blimey you beat me then, i got mine in september 2010 and was rear ended by a farmers wife in n Nissan Nivara whilst waiting for a queue of cars turning right, 5 days after i got mine. £7k worth of repairs but cant tell it was even scratched now. emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif
