From Octavia vrs to Monte Carlo

Featured Replies

Hi all Fabia fans I have today picked up my ex demo Monte Carlo 1.2 tsi 105 in white after part exchanging my 2010 Octavia vrs cr 170 for some cash back as I need it for my new business and although I am very sad to let the octavia go, wow what a superb machine the monte seems to be.

I have been driving the Monte all day now and yes I love it, the engine is amazing for a 1.2 and sounds fantastic and the handling is very good but not so planted as the octavia vrs.

If I had one complaint the steering is a bit to light making the car a bit edgy on the twisty bits, but overall I am very pleased and surprised a fabia Montie Carlo is this good and it looks stunning in white. My wife has just driven it and had a smile from ear to ear and has brought out the girl racer in her, I might have to hide my keys from now on. The fuel consumption is not that good as I managed to get 53.5 mpg in the vrs on the way to the dealers driving quite hard some 61 miles but only got 42mpg in the monte on the return trip

driving more steady. I think manufactures always hype up the figures on petrol cars and seem to under play figures on diesels but I don't care as it's great to be back to a sweet sounding petrol after moving from a petrol vrs ovtavia to the diesel a year ago and always missing the pace and sound of the petrol. The 1.2 tsi engine has no right to be this good, it feel very quick and just shouts go faster and faster and while very quiet on tick over to the point I have tried starting it twice now when it's already running it just sounds superb when you push on. For all you folks waiting for your monte's you are in for a treat so hang on in there it will be well worth waiting for.

If you drive sensibly you can get up to 50mpg from the monte 105 tsi... I've had it in mine with ease :)

I've tried driving it sensibly, but the temptation to hear the Monte roar is just to great

Also having just done 2500 miles thought I'd better check the oil still showing full on the dipstick.

Managed to get a litre of Castrol edge for £12 at Asda.No wonder the dealer didn't throw one in for nothing :dull:
