Trying to sort out the options.

Featured Replies

Just trying to figure out some oof the options.

Will be ordering a Combi Elegance Greenline II, as mentioned elsewhere would prefer the 140PS DSG but just refuse to pay the extra thousands on company car tax, so Greenline it is.

However I'm trying to figure out some discrepancies between the brochure, the configurator and what the dealer says.

Variable Boot floor, brochure says available on all models, configurator won't allow it, when asked dealer goes on about spare wheen which I know isn't an option on Greenline. :wonder:

Load cover. Brochure says removable parcel shelf, yet every Combi I have seen has what I would call a load cover roller blind. Is this standard as it has been on every other Estate I've had since don't know when.

Or do I need to order the Retractable Parcel Shelf for £60?

Yet the configurator says this automatically retracts when you open the tailgate, and I'm not really bothered about that.

So once again demonstrating that I'm easily confused.

Dependant upon the answer to these questions obviously affects other options to be selected.

I am sure the roller blind is standard. The optional retractable parcel shelf is basically just a roller blind which electrically retracts when you open the boot. The standard one is so easy to open (just give it a nudge and it springs back) that I wouldn't bother with the automatic one.

Agreed - I think the "roller" type load cover parcel shelft thingy is standard and probably a larger, wider version of that in the Octavia Estate.

As Jim has said, the standard one just needs a tap and it rolls back, very easy. Why would you pay £60 for what is basically a catch somewhere which flicks the cover as the boot opens?

The brochure and configurator are confusing at times.

Thanks for clearing that up.

So does anyone know if the variable boot floor is available on Greenline or not?

Seems like a good place to store the load tether and partition system when they are not in place, plus a load of other bits and bobs I tend to carry about, and at the same time solves one of my pet hates, "Estates with a non flat floor to the load space."

What I do notice is that for all the other models, Greenline is listed as a specification level eg. Roomster Greenline II - yet for the Superb it isn't ?? It becomes available when you select the engine?

You are correct though, the variable floor does not appear with the Greenline spec - confusing eh? But is available on all models according to the online brochure. Perhaps it isn't available on grounds of weight reduction?

Perhaps James @ Allams can shed some light on it?

The variable boot floor option (PK5) isn't available on Greenline for some reason, I have no idea why as it can't be a weight related thing as they allow the electric tailgate and the panoramic sunroof both of which weigh a fair bit.

The Greenline on the Superb is more like an engine choice than a specific engine choice, as mentioned above on an Octavia you get the Octavia Greenline and that's it, where as on the Superb you can get a Superb S, SE, or Elegance and then select the 1.6CR engine with the Greenline technolodgy.

The tailgate only automaticaly retracts if you have the £60 option or the electric tailgate option.

All the Superb Estates come with the traditional roller blinds that you are familiar with.

Thanks, so that finalises the specification.

Combi Elegance Greenline II

Steel Grey

Onyx leather

Heated washer jets

Heated front and rear seats

Park assist (don't really need assist but not much extra over front sensors)

Auto dimming mirror

Could have added a lot more extras but making a considerable saving from an Elegance 140 PS CR 4x4 DSG, which would be a wonderful car, but flatly refuse to pay a fortune in tax for HMG just to waste it, as opposed to SWMBO wasting it on shoes and handbags.

Combi Elegance Greenline II

Amethyst Purple (in the end after much agonising)

Onyx leather

Heated washer jets

Heated front and rear seats

Park assist

Auto dimming mirror

Let's see what delivery we get.

Good spec - reckon around end of Jan to mid Feb for delivery?
