Car run on 3 cylinders?

Featured Replies

One of my injectors has gone pop and I need to get the car down to the local Skoda dealer, approx 10 miles away. I have no one nearby who I trust to tow the car with( gf is a new drivers, most of my mates are somewhat liabilities)

Is there any way the garage it is at currently could force the car to work on the remaining 3 cylinders? Or am i being daft?

The dpf has been removed if it helps. And i would make the journey down the motorway very late at night, going as slow as reasonably possible, or back roads if I am limited to a dangerously slow speed.

You would have to remove the rocker cover and disconnect the multi-plug of the defective injector.. but I still wouldn't recommend it as you could potentially damage your dual mass flywheel and transmission due to the uneven running

If you get stuck chat up the local one man band recovery companies & just say you want it done in the next few days, they can probably fit it in on a return trip from somewhere. If you dont know any call the small independant garages in your area as they usually have someone they know of. Real money always talks as well.

Re towing, you mentioned the motorway, remember its illegal to tow on the motorway & these days they all have cctv so plod will likely find you. If caught as well as the brollocking you will get if you cant get it moved plod will apoint someone to move it & you will get the bill, that will not be cheap
