I'll be the first to admit I'm no ICE Guru, and have pretty much no idea what to look for in a good set of component speakers to replace my OEM ones with.

Anyone have any good solid advice as to which components to go for? I don't want to spend a fortune, but likewise I want to be able to listen to my music loudly enough to drown out the road noise & engine on the motorway :P

I have a Blaupunkt DAB54 which should be sufficient to not require an additional amp, shouldn't it?

From bits of threads I've picked out on here so far, I'm assuming I need to go for a 6.5" setup?

If I were you, I think you'd still benefit more from an amp + OEM speakers than the built-in amp of the Blaupunkt + uprated comps.

Size is 6.5". However, you have to get very thin speakers because the guide rail of the window goes right behind the "hole" getting in the way :(
