anyone :(

Not sure if it is the same as the centre dash box (with hazard warning light switch) in the Octavia, so you might want to check first.

If it is, then there are two catches along the lower edge (nearest the rear of the car) that can be reached with a plastic ruler or trim removal tool. Slide the tool in at the ends, and push it forwards to release the catches and lift slightly. Once both catches have been released, the box should lift up, rear first, and come out very easily.

Refitting is simply a case of putting the back of the box (front of car) in first and pressing the unit back into places ensuring the catches do their job.

Was pretty easy on the Ocatvia once I knew where the catches were.

Front of car

\x__^__x/

Bottom of box

x = catch location

^ = Hazard switch

Hope that helps and my explanation / diagram is clear.

Edit: for some reason the diagram doesn't show properly once the post is uploaded and I can't work out why! Sorry.

Know this is an old thread now, but I've just had mine out (again) and found that there are actually three catches along the front edge (left, right and centre).

Best way I found of getting them was with a trim removal tool (but a credit card would probably work) and using a plastic ruler to hold one of the end ones in while I moved on to the next).

There are also two smaller catches on each side (about 1.5-2 inches from the front edge) which also just push in.

It is simpler than it sounds, but I would suggest not applying too much pressure to lift the unit up as when it wants to come off it comes off easily.

Cheers for that, its one of those jobs still to do but I scared of breaking anything as there silly money to replace.

Hey Bodie what is up with yours? My hazard switch illumination is intermittent (if I tap it, or sometimes of it's own accord, illumination stops or starts). The "full brightness" light always works (ie if you put the hazzards on it flashes the light).

Keep meaning to take it out and work out if it is fixable or needs a new part.

the illumination on the vent position wheel is inop, just want to see if I can do anything with it.

Total waste of time but the eye always see's it lol. I wonder if the lower spec models illuminate???

Aha. I remember finding a site with Passat owners fitting the Superb vents to theirs and I think one was changing the LEDs - might be some useful info there on how it works / goes together.

Passat with Superb vents

Hehehe makes me laugh, Passat owners pimping their rides into Superb's!... The craziest thing I've found is a dude with a Passat Estate which he has stuck a Skoda front end on - ludicrous!

Superb Combi

Good luck mate :)

Love the Superb Combi!!! Looks alot better proportioned with the Superb front on it........!

Result 5 minutes removing vent panel to discover one of the lights was disconnected another hour removing everything else trying to find the missing wire and then found it put it back together and flicked on lights. Balls to light to see if its working, just been out and vent position wheel lights up

It was of those silly things that was winding me up cause it didnt work. So im happy chappy now it works :p

Nice one. Glad you got it sorted - I know it would have annoyed me as well.
