Central locking problem

Featured Replies

Hey,

After searching on this forum for a long time about my specific problem I decided to join and ask. I have a 2000 1.9 TDI Octavia estate. The main problem I have with it is that it tries to unlock its self all the time, its an inconsistent problem and only happens sometimes, but this week has been just too much for me. Anyway what is the fix for this and what causes it. Also I just hit 90k on the car and I bought it about a month ago (had 82k) and changed all filters + oils. The 90k made me think is there something I need to do to the car or something I need to check on it since its hit 90k. Anyway, I am not a big Skoda fan but ever since iv had this car its treated me nicely (unlike my BMW)

A scan at a VAG dealer or VAG specialist should pinpoint your woes, or rather the cars. You can check that the lock action is working ok or maybe your remote unlock button is sticking on. Ask in the Octavia secion as well, you'll get more replies.

Check the wiring plugs on the left hand side of the boot, behind where the CD is fitted to some models. The screen washer pipe pops its joint and washer fluid hets sprayed everywhere.

Its not the key since I took the keys to the house on purpose to check. It might be the trunk, since the car had been in a minor accident when I bought it. I will check and I will get back to you. Cheers

Yea, I was using the trunk today and sometimes when I close it it starts doing this and sometimes it doesn't. I have to see whats wrong with it. Il try to unplug it Wednesday and I will give an update. Thanks for all the info.
