fabia speakers

Featured Replies

Hey, replacing my front door speakers in my fabia vrs, looking for a little help. Planning on buying these :http://www.bluespot.co.uk/car-audio.aspx/thx662-speakers.

Installation depth 46mm. Will they fit, or are they too deep for the doors ? Also can anyone tell me what fitting adaptor I need to buy is ?

Thanks, Connor.

Would not recommend those as they are not component speakers. There are two speakers in your door. One at the bottom and the tweeter in the cover by the door mirror. Components would provide a far better sound stage. There currently seems to be none of these type on the bluespot website.

To answer your question though, they would fit with the correct adapter/mdf spacing rings.

If budget is important, these http://www.online-caraudio.co.uk/shop/speakers/alpine/6-5-inch-17cm/alpine-sxe-1750s-component-s-446298.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=onlinecaraudio could be a good choice - but while many report them as better than standard Fabia speakers, there are also as many reports of weak bass and poorer quality than other speakers. I have a set of these but haven't got around to installing them - as hoping to install an amplifier too and get it all done in one go.

Cheers, is this the right adaptor -http://www.online-caraudio.co.uk/shop/fitting-accessories/skoda/skoda-speaker-adaptors/sak-3108-skoda-speaker-adaptor-675923.html to use to fit the alpines ? thanks again, connor.

Don't buy that adapter, It doesn't fit!

Get or make MDF rings, It's less of a ballache!

Also try avoid speaker depth of 65mm, its the bare limit. Fitted Vibe space speakers on my furby (65mm) had to offset 3 MDF rings to fit them, a right carry on!

Going with these, 2x 25mm & 2x 18mm, This combo will give enough clearance, And with postage it comes in at £12, Which is a fair deal!

Going with MDF will make the install easier than using plastic rings, Just remember to drill pilot holes to stop the rings from splitting.
