If you have the rsap only version of the bluetooth kit then I don't think there is a software upgrade for the kit although I might be wrong. Some phones can have rsap enabled on them through some horrible techie process but I suspect the easiest way forward is to replace the bluetooth unit in your car with one that will allow either rsap or HFP connections.

Unfortunately this has now ended but the part number is 5N0035730D. Its a direct swap for the RSAP only unit. I've noticed on my car that the Maxidot just shows an empty square where the battery level should be and I didn't have the SMS capability from the RSAP enabled phones but these where things I was happy to live without.

Hi, So do you get access to call lists and phone book as with the Premium RSAP only unit? Any additional coding required at all? connectors all the same ?

I have the premium RSAP only unit and it's a PITA for connecting - takes 2-5 attempts and often I will get 100m up the road and have to pull over and reset BT on Phone and restart engine / onboard telephone before it connects. Obviously when connected I don't get Data services on the phone, which winds me up. as does getting SMS, which 50% of the time will only go to car memory and not phone memory. Car memory then promptly fills up and I don't get the 'king things at all.

Call quality is good, mind you.

No recoding was required on my part. Just a straight swap from under the drivers seat. Address Book gets uploaded and the call list is taken straight from the phone.
