Rear suspension VRS

Featured Replies

Just fitted my winter tyres, when taking my summer tyres off I have noticed the inside quarters worn heavily - done 20k miles. Summer tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport 3's. Winter tyres are Michelin Pilot Alpin's

I have a diesel VRS MY10 estate, I carry quite a heavy load regularly (full boot).

Conscious not to wear my winter tyres down quickly and was scratching my head how to reduce wear. My tyre man suggested sprung inserts for the rear, same as what people use when towing. I do around 1,000 miles a week so need to do something soon!

Is anyone running such a thing and if so any recommendations?

Personally I'd get the alignment checked first (all 4 wheels) before anything else.

Didn't even get 20K out of my rears due to inner tyre wear and sawtoothing - admittadly on the stock Dunlops rather than the PS3s, which is what I have on now, and I very rarely have anything of significance in the boot. I'm hoping that after an alignment check and ajust and the fitting of PS3s I'll get a bit more life out of my rear tyres.

Sarge.
