The climate control light is nothing to do with the water ingres and is most likely just a failed bulb. The wiring is usually fine, and the issue is that water has got into the connectors and corroded them. Any decent electrical specialist should be able to sort it without the need for new wiring, and you will need to replace the ECU as its most likely got water inside it causing corrosion of the electrics inside which is usually what causes the symptoms to start.

Don't kow if it's any help but my climate control stopped working and it was just the control unit, it's easy to pop out and check the plugs are connected ok or even disconnect and reconnect. The trim around the radio and climate just pulls off and then 4 torx screws undo the control panel and it comes straight out.

I think you can check the convenience module, ,it's in a plastic box under the front passenger seat so you will be able to pop it open and check for signs of moisture in there!

Hope this helps
