Pure Highway DAB install

Featured Replies

Evening all

I want to install my Pure Highway into my glovebox in my Superb Combi as it will complete my listening experience in the car combined with the music on the hdd in the columbus.

I have got the aerial down the a pillar and into the box no problem. My problem us where i can tap into a live, preferably a switched one to get power and secondly how to run the cable out of the glovebox into the aux socket in the armrest.

Thanks in advance.

ive just brought a highway so will be intresred to see what reception you get with the glass mounted aerial IF YOU HARD WIRE IT MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE RIGHT rateing fuse in it .ive her theses units burning out when hard wired,

I now have pure highway dab units installed in both cars.

On the Octy I have an external glass mount aerial on the rear window. Made by Panorama, came off the bay for about £15.

reception is good on this. I have travelled from Northampton to North Yorkshire without any signal dropout.

the yaris has the pure stick on and although ok, I do get signal drop out.

I have both in the glove boxes tuned to either Planet Rock or JazzFM which is the reason for fitting.

Power supply in Octy is a hacked USB 5v converter rebuilt in a little plastic box from Maplin. The USB lead powering the Pure Highway. The board was hardwired via a fused connector to a +12Vdc live feed from the radio. This means when the radio is turned on the dab comes on automatically within seconds. So works seamlessly with the audio system.

Note also while I can ffeed signal into auxiliary socket It sounds no worse through the FM built in transmitter.
