I am really pleased - as noted in the "delivery times" thread I found a new, unregistered 1.8 Tsi 4x4 Elegance which I ordered last Thursday and collected today. Got it from Gordon Lamb Skoda in Chesterfield and have been very happy with my dealing with them over the phone and now in person when collecting the car. Everything was as expected and the car fully prepped to a high standard. As an added bonus it came with sat nav which was not part of the spec (or price) but apparently was fitted by the factory as there is a shortage of the standard radio/CD kit for the car. Have now put a 100+ miles on the car over the afternoon and am very happy indeed, lovely car to drive, very comfortable and really well equipped - just need to see how it copes in really bad weather/snow with the standard tyres before deciding whether to go with specialist winter tyres. I can see why everyone is so pleased with their Yetis.

occasionally frequent Pickering so I will look out for you. What colour is your new motor by the way :wonder: Oh I would recommend the winter route, living on the equally inhospitable Wolds I've found them to be a godsend not just in snow but also this current cold and wet stuff.

Thanks for all your good wishes. Plumber - mine is Aqua Blue for info. I will see how the stock tyres go this year if we get some bad weather and then think about winter tyres (and spare wheels?) with some experience under my belt as costs and storage are a concern even though I realise they would definitely be a better idea. Still have my Defender at the moment so until that's sold (boo hoo) I don't need to worry if things get really bad.

For info - Gordon Lamb still have one more car of the same spec in stock (or had yesterday anyway) as they sensibly pre-ordered stock for the winter so if anyone is interested get on the phone now!
