hey kids

Bit of a different one from me this time! I'm really tempted to purchase a Pioneer AppRadio and get it fitted, rather than getting a Columbus. I always prefer OEM parts, but the functionality of the AppRadio is just too tempting atm!! So what I'm looking for this thread (and you lovely people) to help me with is:

1. What are all the parts that I would need?
   
2. What are the dimensions of the radio bay in the Octavia? (So I can find out whether the radio will stand out from the dash or sit flush)
   

I know I won't be able to link it to the Maxidot and I will lose the optical parking display, but I'll get bluetooth, iPhone connectivity, rear parking input (thread to follow about that! lol!) and obviously the app integration directly from my iPhone. Which is just awesome. lol!

So yeah, any help anyone could give would be really appreciated!

How are you going to get silver trim to fit the new radio?

After further research (looked at reviews on the US Amazon!) I've decided to stick with Plan A of getting a Columbus. Mostly because the AppRadio is useless unless it has an iPhone 4(S) plugged into it. So if I swapped phones I'd be screwed! And also because it's apparently pretty slow and the UI is rubbish.

You just wait to see a thread about what I'd need to get a Columbus installed in the New Year! lol!
