Servicing Warning

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm sure this topic has been covered before but I've not had an Octy long.

On my MFD I get a warning saying to have the car serviced within 500 miles or x many days, my question is what would happen if this date or mileage is exceeded? I'm planning on a long journey to and don't have the time to put the car in for service beforehand, does the car go into limp mode or simply carry on?

Thanks in advance

You'll be fine, the days simply reads 0 and the mileage descends into negatives.

You won't notice any adverse effects, just book it in for when you get back

Thanks for the quick reply Silver!!

No worries, enjoy your holiday!

Not sure how old your Octavia is but remember not to leave it too long before getting it serviced. If it's still in warranty then some dealers can get a little funny about honouring warranty claims if you overrun on mileage/time too much (a couple of months / a few thousand miles).

If you're not under warranty then you've no worries at all, check the oil, coolant, washer fluid levels and tyre pressures and you are good to go!

It bongs and irritates you but nothing else.Do the usual checks and not too many more miles and not a lot to worry about.
