im trying to wire up a rear veiw camere but the instructions are a bit vagev or im brain dead,

it say

conect rca done then the violet/white of the two lead wires conect to the back lamp. conect the one in which the voltage changes when gear shift is put into reverse POSTION. THIS CONECTION ENABLES THE UNIT TO SENCE WEATHER THE CAR IS MOVEING FORWARDS OR BACK WARDS,

NOW MY QUETION IS .IS IT SAY TAKE A LIVE WIRE FROM THE REVERSE LIGHT TO THE VIOLET/WHITE WIRE IE SEND ANOTHER 12VOLTS DOWN TO THE HEAD UNIT :wall:
