Cabin heater gets cold over time

Featured Replies

Hi,

My 2008 Skoda Octavia Elegance has developed something weird this Winter.

Inside the cabin heats up normally over a few minutes but, when I have a longer trip, it just gets colder and colder in the cabin. There is a tiny amount of hot air coming out of the vents but no matter what I set the fan to, hardly any wind comes out.

If I then slow right down in traffic for a while, back comes the lovely heat.

I went with the car at the service and they said that there is no error on the computer.

Do you have any idea?

Thank you

pollen filter?

Pollen filter or outside air vents blocked somewhere? What happens if you switch to recirculate? If the air suddenly comes whooshing out then it must be a blockage to outside air coming in.

Interested to read this thread as experiencing something similar in my 2010 vRS. The cabin warms up nicely but then after about 20 mins. driving it cools down and I struggle thereafter to get warm air and fan doesn't do much extra blowing. Recently caused real probs for me on the M1 when a downpour caused the inside to mist up and I couldn't clear it. Had to leave the motorway at next exit. Once the car was turned off and then turned on again it all worked fine for a bit but then problem returned. Also, the passenger side always blows several degrees cooler than driver side, even when temp. dials at same setting. The dealer did a check and found no fault codes but it's going back for further investigation.

Sarge.

Sunlight sensor if you have clamatronic auto aircon maybe?
