Central Locking - Only front doors open.

Featured Replies

Hello,

You've never failed to help so far, so here goes.

The central locking on my Octavia has been playing up over the last few months; The fob (or key) normally open both the drivers and passenger door, however it rarely now opens either of the rear doors (occasionally it does open the drivers side one).

It has been into the garage, who said there was nothing obviously wrong with the module in the drivers door.

Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? AND/OR how to easily remove the rear passenger door cards when you can't open the doors.

Thanks

Dave

Locking mechanisms/microswitches in both the rear doors probably failed/failing.

If you get lucky and one of the doors manages to open then get that door card off while you can!

Otherwise removing the cards from a locked door can be done (search for instructions on here) but I would rather put it in the hands of a garage as if you're not careful you can damage the door card.

You could try disconnecting the battery for an hour or so, its been known to work on other VAG cars to good effect.

Have you had a flat battery recently?
