Hi, new on here so go easy with me.....

I have a VRS Fabia, 5 Door, Electric windows front, manual windows rear.

The electric windows have been intermittantly working for a while. Mostly not working.

I have VCDS. I have a communication error with both doors. I have changed Convenience ecu, but still have the same fault. When I communicate with 46 - Convenience on the first window that opens up on the lap top, I have 2 pieces of german writing in the extras box, whiche transalated means no siganl from door modules. I have recoded the ecu with soft coding 00066, Can anyone tell me if this is the correct figure? I have disconnected drivers door wiring plugs in the hinge area, but this does not produce any fault codes in 46 - conv. I think the ecu thinks it has manual windows in the front??? but not sure.

Can anyone help???

My Roomster which uses the same module and has electric front windows only is coded at 00019, try it, you can always set it back again.

The Central Convenience coding for my 2007 Fabia vRS with electric front windows and manual rears is 00067.

The German comments say:

Part No: Steuerger

Component: t Fahr. antwortet nich

And ....t. Beif....

It had 00018 in it originally...

00019 no good.

00066/00067 the covenience ecu then looks for the door modules, but in measuring block 012, the door module boxes have 0 in both.

Beginning to struggle on this now..... :S

Dont think you can read the window information in measuring blocks as the communication is done in Lin-Bus and not Can Bus, thats why the coding of 00018 or 00019 should work.

Thats interesting as I have just looked at another Fabia and thats 00018 too.

If I code mine 00018, it still won't work.

I'm going to set to 00018 and lock the car and leave it. See if it communicates to door modules after its been left a while.

Could it be that mines can, and 2007 are lin?

The change over date seems to be oct 2005, but my Roomster is 2007 and uses Lin Bus, i have a wiring diagram if needed but difficult to follow without having Elsa Win on the computer. Can is later than Lin by the way.

Thanks for the info. I purchased elsa in from ebay but couldn't get it to load or open properly, guess it was a poor cheap copy...

I have been using a wiring diagram from Autodata but it hasn't really took me much further. I'll keep plugging away and post back soon. Once again thanks.
