Center Armrest

Featured Replies

Just looking to make Octy a bit more comfortable.

What options do have with installing a center a arm rest? Will one from a MK4 Golf just bolt in or do I need to do some fettling?? I've seen a few after market one on FleeceBay they claim easy install, but would I be better off sticking with a VAG original?

Thanks

Hi Gav

I bought an aftermarket one from theBay. It was an Italian made one and it was dead easy to install. Well recomended. I paid £30 ish?

Only slight issue was if you installed it as per instructions, the rear asthtray would not open properly. I spotted before I fixed it.

Thanks, I might go with the ebay option so

There is an exact copy on eBay for £37inc postage from Hong Hong. Fixed the same as OEM one, I'm very tempted!

i have never had one, but on all the car forums i have/are on cheap arm rests are flimsy and crap.

To fit a mk4 arm rest the bottom part of the bracket is different. i have one out my bora that i need to trim to make room for the fag lighter. The sides are different too but they can be trimed down also by the looks of thing.

I bought a cheap ebay one for a mkiv a few years ago, & it was absolutely rubbish. Started falling apart within weeks.

You need a different mounting for the octy too so I would just look out for a used VAG armrest, & buy the correct Octy mounting foot from TPS.
