disharged battery

Featured Replies

Hi guys and girls, wonder if anyone can shed some light on the following problem?

the battery on our 22 month old scout is loosing charge over a couple of days if not used! the battery has been checked by RAC, Skoda Dealer and now VW assist, none of them can find fault with battery, there is no registered abnormal drain when checking the battery and its charging properly. Its going into the dealers again on Saturday to hopefully get it sorted :( Wondered if anybody else has had any simular problems

The dealers is the wrong place for a scout when snow is forcast :@:swear:

Sounds simple but is the battery fully charged?

Has it had an hour long run this week a couple of short runs with all electrics on?

If everything is testing to be OK it could be simply the cold weather and not enough charging for the powerdrain and cold batteries hold less charge.

CTEK battery chargers are the best.

That's what I thought was the problem but it had 2 45 minute runs on the motorway Sunday 1 in daylight 1 with lights on , then was fully charged at dealers on monday then wouldn't start Thursday pm after starting at 9am

Check your Brake lights are not coming on when parked, there have been faulty Brake Light switches which auto turn on when the atmospheric pressure is high - crazy but true, it happened on my car. The trick is to spot when the lights are on, helps if you can keep an eye on the car when parked.

I can recommend a Ring conditioning battery charger.
