Octavia FL

Featured Replies

Hi

A nice motorist crept over the white line and hit my driver's wing mirror whilst traveling in the opposite direction last night. The housing folded back under the impact but, unfortunately the end of the clear lens covering the indicator was broken. Nothing else seems to be broken and the indicator still works fine.

Question is can the slim clear lens be replaced alone or does it need other parts replacing as well? Any body have an idea of price or part number? Could a novice like me re-fit the new one?

If I can do it myself and order the part via Eurocarparts (with the discount code on here)then I think this'll be the best option.

Thanks in anticipation.

It is an easy DIY on the pre-facelift (pop out the mirror glass, undo two Torx screws, disconnect the electrical connector and out it comes). The indicator unit is available to buy too, approx. £15.

Not sure on the FL though as the design is different, I'd hope it would be similar though..

Thanks for the response, the dealer says it's a bit more complicated to remove on the FL - visited them this morning and the lens can be replaced, part cost of £22, then fitting cost of £76! May just leave it unless anyone knows how to fit?

Thanks and regards

Just buy the part - if you've ever built anything with lego you can probably work out how to change the thing yourself. The basic design is exactly as Silver says above - not hard to do at all.
