Advice needed - am I being ungrateful?

Featured Replies

Cars fixed. Replace EGR control unit, EGR and maf sensor and is fine.

They even offered me a free map this week coming.

Thank f*** for that!

Always a PITA when a new car (or new to you car) doesn't work as it should. Fingers crossed it continues to behave itself. You might want to spend 5 minutes discussing that map with them in the mean time. TORQUE! is great and the car's faster real world for it but probably at the expense of a clutch in the forseeable future. If you have to pick a number 260-270 lbft are probably good ones.

Yeaa, I'm read about that the Revomap is harsh on the clutch, I'm looking at getting a Shark map sometime this year, this ones just to get me through and to prove a point to the garage!

Cant understand your statement "prove a point to the garage"if your car is fixed, unfortunately technicians don't have magic balls. Life would be so much easier if they did! This is the problem with buying second hand things as you could be buying someone else's problem. But glad its now sorted. As for the remap Revo will be fine as i know fabia vrs running revo software with 150k on the clock still running strong with no clutch/flywheel problems, and on the flip side ive seen standard fabia vrs with knackered flywheels due to the drivers ragging seven bells out of them.
