Just purchased a new Fabia 1.2 86 SE as part of the deal they gave me a FREE 7day Skoda insurance cover Like all things in life nothing is Free the excess was £500 so had I had have a bump it was going to cost me £500, I declined it and got a cover note on my existing policy from Admiral with my £100 excess for £6 .My multi car policy is ending today as i no longer need it so i went back to Admiral for a new quote and it was over £300.So i phoned round all the companies on this forum as well as the usual comparison sites and non came close to the deal wait for it Skoda.

They came up with just a tad over the £210 with only £100 voluntary new car if written of in first year and only genuine Skoda approved parts and approved body shop loan car for the length of any repairs legal protection and all that stuff .

What is very strange is that a SE Plus is cheaper yet it is a dearer car to buy I explained this to the person but they would not budge on price and if i had told them it was SE Plus and had a accident and they found out they would not pay out any claim so for £10 i just declared it as the SE .

Hope this makes sense .

My insurance is due in a month so been checking. when i put my reg on sites the car comes up as a Fabia 1.2 TSI SE PLUS (86)ps £280. But here's the problem My car is a 1.2 TSI SE (86)ps not a PLUS> Plus models came out after march 2011. Mine was registered 1st March. no site has the option for a 1.2 TSI SE. So i was thinking with it not being a PLUS it might be cheaper. And on the other hand if someone bumped me or vica versa will i be insured as not the model listed on my docs anyone any idea :S

have u phoned the insurance companies direct.

If Skoda's own insurance company cannot get it right what chance the others !!

My main point being that if you look at the price book the Plus is £590 more than the SE so one would think it is dearer to insure as it would cost more to replace .Skoda say the Plus has over £1k of goodies added to the car look at there web site .It would be any easy cope out for same companies not to pay out on any claim .

PS did get a cheaper qt from Saga £198 but excess was greater and no loan car or allowed to take into a authorized dealer so for £20 a no brainer
