  1. after only 3 weeks in I am afraid to say its not the for me ..its mainly the driving position seat is way to low and with it it the highest position the rear view mirror is directly in your line of sight on making left hand turns is creating a blind spot ...anyone want to buy a Kamiq 175 mls have had 4 Skodas in the past and have never experienced this before.
  2. Yes ..not near the price... tried most of the we buy sites ..re the original poster you will struggle to get your money back ,spoke with a Main Skoda dealer and he said in order too sell a used car the interest offer is 9.5% but buying a new car on PCP they can offer 5.4%and you get £2k off a new Kamiq at present , most people don't have £22600 to lay out on a car but can afford a deposit and £300 a month., and they can now get new stock in 16weeks .Its a nice car but sadly the seating position is poor and the rear view mirror is at a height that is a blind spot on a left turn for me , have had 4 Skoda's and this one is not for me ,the Yeti was the best by a mile
  3. Just sold my 10 day old Kamiq back to another dealer as not gelling with it seat position for a start ...anyway you will not make a profit or even get your money back as the market is awash with used Kamiq's I was offered £3 K less from the supplying dealership I bought it from .,when I bought it told a 28 weeks wait but they had one unsold so I bought it and now say have more new stock arriving so mine is only worth X ... my loss is palatable if we where in normal time you would have lost the £4k vat right away plus any extras taxes etc .crazy at moment used cars are selling at almost the cost as new ones .

Sadly I am not gelling with my Jan 22 Kamiq 1ltr 110 SE DSG in Titan Blue 150 miles has the full spare and the 2yr service plan ,main thing is the seating my good lady cannot get a decent position as came from a Yeti ,so think I will need to sell it .any one want to avoid the 26 week wait .
  5. E-K ..... Years ago I went to Skoda meet in the central belt ,so idea if there is a meet up for Skoda owners anymore

    Moving On

Just taken delivery of a Kamiq SE and agree it looks like a small SUV but is not ,the seating position is to low I agree there ,coming from a Yeti there is a big difference .Mine is DSG so no issues reaching pedals ,but if it was a manual would struggle to press in clutch pedal with seat at its highest point short legs 30" I do tend to sit close to windscreen to see over bonnet ,maybe should have hired a car for a week to see if I gelled with it ,a short test drive is never enough time , It is just a car at the end of the day and can sell and move on and the way prices are and delivery times may not loose a lot .my Yeti only lost £1750 in 4 years of ownership .
  7. Just took delivery of my new Kamiq 2 days ago only waited 2 weeks for delivery as opposed to the 24week wait at present .My first impressions are a very nice car and very quite being the 1ltr 110 SE DSG and came with Michelin Primicy 4 tyres good write up on those . It will take a few weeks to get my head round all in infotainment system as not very techie. I agree its not a SUV but a larger hatch and the seats do not come up in height enough for my 5.8 frame ,the SEL I drove at another place had different seats ie 2 tone and maybe the seat in it was higher thicker base ,and the passenger seat is fixed no height adjustment . I do not like the lane assist but can be switched of ,stop start is a +or - depending if you are in heavy traffic town driving economy . The Yeti is a better built car and if versatility is your requirement load wise the Kamiq does not match it . Turning circle is brilliant, will take a while to gel with the car.
  8. Interesting I am about to buy a Kamiq SE 110 tsi DSG and trade in my L&k YETI this is my 4th Skoda and 2nd Yeti .,Just fancied a change as really don't need a large car as its just me and good lady ,do about 6k a year .I like the look of the Kamiq over its bigger siblings and looks like a small SUV as opposed to a big estate car .Had a test drive at weekend on rural streets and on motor way and seems very nice and was no slouch in picking up speed ,not as fast as the Yeti with its 2ltr engine .I do like the Yeti but don't need the vercility of all the folding seats ,if require to lug big items can hire a van .Only thing I found the steering seems to tighten up when under quick acceleration or in tight turns .Prefer the interior of the SE to the L two tone seats ,the digital dash is nice but the infotainment is confusing ,still cant work out some of the stuff in Yeti 😄 only enquired on Monday and car will be here by the end Jan ,not signed any docs just a refundable deposit ,the £2K off is not a bad deal and the PX was close to what I paid used for the car in June 18 so kind of no brainer in my mind 3 yr warranty 2 services for 199 .
  9. When I bought my Yeti L&K used back in 2018 it had a tow bar fitted I was not to happy thinking it may have towed a caravan or similar but was assured it was a mountain bike rack THULE that was fitted and have the fittings lying in the boot inc instructions including the detached tow hook which incidentally was factory fitted supplied from new. Always nervous following behind those roof or boot device in case the bikes fly off 😄
  10. read my saga on ABS sensor ...not saying the same but similar a new battery solved part of the fault now have a 80ah ...originals 63ah looked ok still showed 12.8 on charge .
  11. Thanks for both your help and took Austin 7 advise and sent his email to the company doing the repairs ,glad to say it looks like all is well but quite a saga and to be fair to the company spent WAY more time than I was billed for. As you can see from my posts it was originally diagnosed by RAC as an ABS sensor this was replaced but fault still there ... all the 5 lights still on and ESC and bent light function fault lights on info screen. Tec then opened up harness to see if copper wire in loom was broke all ok .Next step a new reluctor ring was suspect so went for a new SKF wheel bearing complete as this was the next possible cause of problems ..success we thought all lights out went for a run still ok then came back and took me out to show it was clear within 100 yds brake ABS and all lights on again and an intermittent fault with hard pedal kicking in the ABS . The ironic think is when lights all on car drove great when all lights where off got this vibration through pedal .Tec suspected it may be the ABS MODULE its self hope not that s a £800 part but phoning round asked loads of Skoda guys never heard of it in all there time .So booked back in again for another days look ,took on board battery situation although showing 12.8. 13 resting he put in new battery to try right away power steering sign and bulb signs went out . next was to check the 32 pin plug going into ABS MODULE tested loom on each pin and discovered a communications breakdown so replaced a new cable direct to NSF sensor ...all lights out and car seems to be all ok and all work is warranted for a year If this had been into a main dealer at £100+ an hour would have been a very costly repair as no diag tool was picking up a fault on module .hope you all have fallen asleep reading this .this is why forums are so good lets others narrow down things .
  12. many thanks the car is going in on Monday to check to see if their is a voltage drop or break in wiring to the abs module.will send over your post to the person doing the work .I am not technical in any way and do not understand a lot of the working in cars so any help is appreciated .
  13. Yip .mine was off road for a month before they got a fix eventually fitted a new cassette frame common fault ,it was just months out off 3 yr warranty ,tried to say Skoda used car warranty does not cover this fault ,but I found an old service sheet / warranty claim where the previous owner had the same parts fitted during the 3 yr warranty period .seems a fault in VAG cars, comes in front right hand window pillar into footwell check carpets for dampness .
  14. correct the ABS plastic sensor was fitted first it was a decent make Pagid and lights went out but soon after came on ,then the new ABS wheel bearing which had the new reluctor ring fitted within in SKF so a quality part lights out but later came on . Got another ABS to try in case new one faulty but he recons its good and fault lies in wiring contacts to ABS MODULE .these part are between £800 -1200 for genuine Skoda ones, even sending away old one for testing quotes £550e. Car is a 15plate L&K with just 51k miles full Skoda main dealer service since new on time
